Back in August we headed to Whitstable, to make the most of the bank holiday heat. We arrived early, whilst the air was still sharp and before the masses descended (and descend they did). Impossible to resist oysters straight off the boats, and good to see young uns and old uns alike shucking away. There are many good things to be seen and done by the coast here, and on a hot sunny day it’s easy to imagine yourself in the life; but for me there’s just a bit too much Cath Kidston and painted driftwood in gift shops, something you don’t see too much of in Whitby.
