A postscript to Mandy’s recent blog on bread. The stunning Holgate Windmill in York is once again open for business.
Holgate Mill is York’s last surviving windmill and the oldest five-sailed windmill in the country. They have increased their flour production and it’s now available from the mill shop. The shop is manned by volunteers and under the current restrictions is only open Saturday mornings 10am-12pm for stoneground, wholemeal flour. It you have never baked with freshly ground flour then try this, it gives real flavour and bounce to your baking.
