Perhaps golden boy Anthony Flinn is feeling the cold wind of recession after all. His flagship gastro temple in Leeds’s Boar Lane, the patisserie in the Victoria Quarter and his mega gastro venue at the Corn Exchange appear to be doing fine, but poor old Anthony’s at Flannels has closed. A pity, I always liked it the spare white attic space up in the rafters atop Flannels the posh clothes store. I was fond of of the food too. A short menu of simple, beautifully presented dishes. It was always an oasis of calm away from the city centre bustle. Too calm as it happens. A handful of diners, can’t sustain a restaurant. What a shame.
