For a number of years Mandy and I were part of a team of judges for the Yorkshire Life magazine food awards. We travelled across the county inspecting restaurants and once a month we met up at Rudding Park with Stephanie Moon, Robert Ramsden and our chair Annie Stirk. We discussed, debated, argued and laughed a lot.
It was invariably Robert from Delifresh who made us laugh. His restaurant and hotel visits were always eventful and so was his enthusiasm.
Delifresh if you don’t know it, is a fresh food wholesaler supplying restaurants with top quality produce. Now, during the lockdown, Delifresh is delivering to those of us within their delivery postcodes which at the moment covers areas of Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield, Harrogate and York.
I had my first delivery last week and it was fabulous. Just a word of warning. Some of the sizes are more suitable to a restaurant than a family home. I ended up with a kilo of smoked pancetta and a kilo of crème fraiche, it’s going into everything.
