We’ve written about the sad demise of J Baker’s in York, so are happy(ish) to report that Jeff has been snapped up by the up-market mail order food retailer Farmison.
If you don’t know Farmison & Co, take a look. Set up a couple of years ago by Lee Simmonds and John Pallagi (formerly of Room restaurant in Leeds) it’s a mail order food company selling top quality produce much of it from Yorkshire suppliers.
We say happyish, because Jeff has been taken on as Development Chef which means he will be searching the region for traditional farms and artisan producers to supply Farmison and supplying recipes for the site. All of which is good for us and Farmison, but means we won’t be actually tasting his cooking for awhile. But good luck to Jeff and well done to Farmison for snapping up the talent.
