Mr P’s Curious Tavern, York
With a pretty bow window that leads to an interior of dark green walls, black beams, a lot of wood, oil lamps and bric a brac, it’s a wintry sort of place, dark and intimate with a menu that is described as ‘modern Yorkshire pub fayre’. And so it proves with a starter of Yorkshire pudding and gravy or Yorkshire rarebit with fig jam. Follow that with fish cake, a burger or a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings then what better finish than apple crumble and ice cream. There are some interesting wines and sherries and an expansive gin menu.
