The amiable Rob Sim runs this an unpretentious licensed bistro on Staithes High Street. There's a changing menu of crab, pasta, steak and a daily specials board of locally caught fish which invariably hits the spot after a day on the beach.
Begin with smoked fish flan or a bowl of sweet little mussels. Follow it with local cod, sea bass or maybe steak all served with proper chips or crab linguine with a spot of chilli. Desserts might be sticky toffee pudding or cheesecake. A simple wine list starts around £14 or £4.50 a glass.
It's one of a limited number of B & B's in this, one of our favourite seaside villages, so tuck yourself into one of their cosy rooms and after their full English you'll be all set for a day of rock pooling or fossilling along the scar.
It's small, it's busy, so it's best to book.
