Timony's Leeds

This little cafe at Oakwood has recently had a bit of a face-lift and looks ever so shiny and posh! The food’s as good as ever and the welcome ever more cheerful, if that’s possible. It’s so good to see a place like this thriving – so much so they can afford to splash a bit of cash on it and spruce it up.

Aussie Kath and her twinkling Irish mum greet you like a (liked) family member. Nothing’s too much trouble, yes of course we’ve got room for you in about ten minutes, finish your shopping and come back then for tasty melts: roast veg, basil and cheddar or chicken, sun dried tomato and parmesan. There’s a little salad with leaves and cous cous, and a sweet-with-a-kick roast tomato dressing – very good.

But we all know we come here for the cakes. All home made. Choosing takes for ever. (Before now, I’ve been leaving mid-afternoon and a bag of scones has been thrust in my hand – ‘they’re fresh every day – new ones tomorrow – take them!’) But today it’s the ginger and carrot cake and two spoons, perfect with a heart-stopping macchiato or for a healthier kick, peppermint tea.
