Tucked away in a cobbled corner of the market square, this ace little caff goes from strength to strength. There was even a queue on a wet, cold, windy Thursday in November for its great coffee, home-made cakes, brownies and Emma’s unbeatable cinnamon bun. Chocolate and beetroot cake comes a close second. There are savouries, too, wholesome home-made soups, flans and ‘posh’ sausage rolls and cheese pies served with salad leaves from the stunning Mount St John garden just up the A19 at Felixkirk. Dad’s jam and chutney is for sale, along with any number of store cupboard staples. The vibe here is chatty, buzzy, friendly with service to match. In summer, sit out in the cute little yard at the back with its vintage bits and pieces; as a winter refuge it's a bit of a life-saver.
